Hi i am from Lake Toba, My name is Roy. This is a short article for you who try to search for " Lake Toba Accommodation" for backpacking journey.

For those who plan to visit lake Toba, who comes from outside of Sumatra or abroad.

You will fly to Kualanamu International Airport that take place in Medan, North Sumatra. It is about 160 KM, about 4  hours with Bus to Lake Toba.

Kualanamu International Airport is a big Airport, you can find many flights from this Airport to some beautiful tourism destinations in North Sumatra.

Susi air - Lake Toba Accommodation

So If you want to visit Lake Toba with Airlines you can go with Susi Air. Susi Air will Take you to Sibolangit Airport in Siborong-borong. It is only about 30 menits from Siborong-borong To Lake Toba.

If you prefer to go by Bus. You should take Damri Bus from Kualanamu Airport To Terminal Amplas. Stop and Transit in Terminal Amplas to Sejatrah Bus. Usually It costs about Rp.40.000 Or about 3 USD.

The easiest one, From Kualanamu airport you can take taxi. There are many taxis there. Usually it only costs Rp.100.000 Or about 8-9 USD.

You Can spend one night in Parapat,  It is the first small city that connected to Lake Toba, There are many good hotels there, from five start hotel to the cheapest one which is only 10 USD/Day.

The Most favorite tourism destination in Lake Toba is Tomok and Tutuk. Yo can go there with traditional small Boat or through ferry Boat. It is only about 1 hour from Parapat tu Tomok.

If you want to stay in a very quite beautiful view hotels, i suggest you to book one of the hotel in Tuktuk. This city is very unique, i can't tell you about whats make it unique , just visit Lake Toba and you will know.
